Florida Hog Hunts

It was a sunny southwest Florida hog-hunting day, and I was hunting with an outfitter out of Arcadia Florida. We started out on the hog hunt hunting out of a two-man stand in a large Florida oak canopy with no hogs to be seen. My hog guide said it was a slow morning, but he would get me a hog before the hunting day is over.     We then got out of the hunting stand and started to spot & stalk hunt. I saw axis deer, bison, Water buffalo, fallow deer, giant whitetail, and more with no hogs to be seen still. I was starting to think I was not going to get my first hog when my guide said there's one crossing the trail, but we an do better then that, it was a 50 pound hog that looked like it was in a hurry to get somewhere.    The wind was in our face so we keep on hunting in the same direction, and within minutes we saw another hog, but still a Small one. My hog guide said the small ones come out first, and then the bigger hogs will be out. We walked more and more seeing more and more hogs. At about 30 minutes before dark after seeing around 25 small hogs we came up to a place the guide called the big food plot. There my hog guide says, over by the hog feeder, that's your hog.    Up with a set of hog shooting sticks and I take my shot. I was walking for so long and waiting to get a Shot, and I missed. Thinking the hog hunt was over; I was not a Happy camper at all. Then to my surprise my hog guide says shake it off, if anyone says that they never miss then they have not hunted very much, lets find another.    Well we didn't have much hog hunting light left, so at a fast walk we went down a hog path to another feeder, and there was an even bigger meat hog. My hog guide said that's a 200 plus pound sow, now put one in her ear. Up with the sticks again, and I shoot a second time, and after the muzzle blast I was looking at nothing, no hog.    What the heck am I doing wrong I said to my self, when I hear my hog guide say great shot, she went down like a ton of hog bricks. After walking up closer to the hog feeder I saw the hog, I was relieved to see I didn't forget how to shoot after all. After skinning and quartering the hog and two days latter we are in the back yard talking about or next hog hunt, and eating at one great hog BQ. I can't wait to go on my next hog hunt!
