Fl Hog Hunting 3 Hogs Shot 1 with a 45 Pistol

   A hog hunting buddy of mine from way back recently moved to Florida. He had been telling me stories of huge wild boars he had hunted. On one particular hog hunt on a steamy August afternoon he said a whole slew of giant hogs rushed him all at once. He said. John you cannot believe the adrenaline rush I got when they (seven or more very large pigs) charged at me from several different directions. He pulled up his rifle and shot the two closest boar hogs. Then the hogs seemed to disappear for a brief moment. Then out of the blue cam a huge sow, he had no choice but to pull out his pistol and defend himself. He let the hammer of his 45 go and down she went.  In the process a feral beast of a boar hog plowed into him knocking him over and slicing about a four inch long and a one inch deep gash into his right leg. As he rolled he pulled the trigger twice. To his surprise and relief he dropped that monster hog on the spot. He said he stayed on the alert for what seemed like an eternity not knowing if he was in for another hog assault. Luckily for him the rest of the group had vanished into the thick brush surrounding Billy and the four hogs he had shot. I was glad to hear he had survived his encounter with those bad Florida hogs.
